Wide Protests by Teachers in Idlib Demanding Improvement of Living Conditions

The Syrian Ministry of Education announced the allocation of financial allocations to pay the salaries of teachers in Idlib province during the summer vacation, including those working in education in Idlib, local councils, and organizations, provided that they have personal numbers.
Educational Minister Mohammad Abdul Rahman Turkou confirmed that this measure came "based on the principle of equality among educational cadres in all provinces", and was coordinated with the Ministry of Finance, with efforts from the General Secretariat of the Presidency.
Turkou explained that the salaries will be paid in Syrian pounds, and will be similar to the salaries of teachers in other provinces after the recent increase, indicating that the executive instructions for the decision will be issued later.
These decisions have sparked widespread anger in Idlib, where teachers in the province organized a protest today, Saturday, demanding improvement of their living and professional conditions, and rejecting any decisions that would lead to a reduction in salaries instead of an increase.
The participants raised slogans demanding justice and fairness for teachers both financially and morally, affirming that teachers have faced years of war, bombing, and displacement, yet they have continued to perform their educational duties despite the difficult circumstances.
The protesters emphasized that teachers deserve appreciation and support, as they are one of the fundamental pillars in building society and educating generations, calling on the relevant authorities to fulfill their responsibilities towards the educational cadres and achieve their fair demands.
