Washington: Trump Administration Announces Review of 55 Million Visas to Enter the United States

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday the largest visa review to date, as it will review 55 million visas to enter the United States, with the intention of deporting violators.
The U.S. State Department stated that "all holders of U.S. visas are subject to 'continuous scrutiny', aimed at detecting any indicators that may render them ineligible to retain their visa".
This announcement comes in the context of a series of strict measures launched by the administration in the field of immigration, as Fox News Digital reported a few days ago that the U.S. State Department canceled more than 6,000 student visas in 2025, "for exceeding the legal stay and violating laws".
The department also revealed to the channel that "in total, about 40,000 visas were revoked by 2025, compared to 16,000 visas canceled during the same period under President Joe Biden's administration".
The administration's initiatives include strengthening immigration procedures and canceling visas for students enrolled in academic institutions in the United States. The State Department is intensifying its screening and scrutiny of student visa applicants' social media accounts, coinciding with the suspension of interviews.
It is noteworthy that these measures coincide with a previous decision to freeze humanitarian medical visas for children in Gaza and for any Palestinian from Gaza applying to enter the United States for any purpose, whether for study, treatment, or even for visiting.
