US and Jordanian Foreign Ministers Emphasize the Importance of Ceasefire and Dialogue in Southern Syria

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi in Washington last night, where they discussed the situation in Syria and mechanisms to enhance stability in the region.
Rubio emphasized during the meeting the "necessity of adopting dialogue as a way to resolve the crisis in southern Syria and protect all civilians", while Safadi pointed out the "importance of consolidating the ceasefire in Sweida province, delivering humanitarian aid, protecting civilians, asserting Syrian state sovereignty and law over all Syrian territories."
The Jordanian Minister also highlighted the importance of supporting the reconstruction of Syria based on preserving its unity, sovereignty, and security, while ensuring the rights of all Syrians.
At the end of the discussions, both sides agreed to continue joint coordination to enhance bilateral relations and address regional crises, in a way that serves the achievement of security and stability in the region.
