United States: Egyptian plan for Gaza "does not meet the aspirations" of President Trump.

The U.S. Department of State announced on Thursday, March 6, that the Egyptian plan for the reconstruction of Gaza "does not meet the aspirations" of President Donald Trump, despite previous praise expressed by the U.S. special envoy for Egypt's efforts in this regard, and confirmed that the project details are still under review.
This statement was made by State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce during the first press briefing of the department in the second term of President Trump.
Bruce explained, in response to a question about the Egyptian plan, that the main goal is to "establish peace in the region," expressing optimism about the possibility of achieving this goal.
On the other hand, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced last Tuesday that the Arab leaders gathered at the emergency Arab summit in Cairo had approved a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, which included ensuring the residents of the sector, devastated by war, remain on their land.
El-Sisi emphasized at the end of the summit that the final statement and the reconstruction and development plan in Gaza, prepared by Egypt, had been adopted.
In his opening speech, the Egyptian President noted that the plan takes into account "preserving the right of the Palestinian people to remain on their land" and includes the formation of an independent "non-factional" committee to manage the sector.
The summit's final statement also confirmed that the Arab leaders approved the Egyptian plan for early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza as a comprehensive Arab plan.
The statement warned against "any attempts to displace the Palestinian people or annex any part of Palestinian land will lead the region into a new phase of conflicts," emphasizing the rejection of any actions undermining the rights of the Palestinian people.
