The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator, Adam Abdulmoula, said today, Friday, that we are working on a comprehensive plan to rebuild Syria after the fall of the regime, emphasizing that the United Nations will focus on the recovery process in the coming period.
Abdulmoula pointed out that 16.5 million Syrians are in need of humanitarian assistance, explaining that "we have only received $200 million out of the pledges made at the Brussels conference."
Abdulmoula confirmed that Israeli violations in Syria hinder the work of humanitarian organizations.
He also stated that the human rights situation in Syria now cannot be compared to what it was under the Assad regime, indicating that "the former regime used to spy on our rooms inside the Four Seasons Hotel."
Abdulmoula pointed out that there are individuals within the United Nations system who had connections to the previous regime.
He mentioned that the former regime used to steal from donor funds by manipulating the exchange rate.
