UN Delegation Inspects Conditions of Shelter Centers in Basra Al-Sham City and Surrounding Villages

The director of the Basra Al-Sham area, Nasar Al-Tabishi, presented to the delegation details of the general situation of the centers, emphasizing the urgent need to enhance relief supplies, especially health, food, and hygiene materials, which constitute the first line of defense against the spread of diseases. He also highlighted the vital role played by the local community, through providing daily breakfast and lunch for the arrivals.
The UN delegation members expressed their readiness to provide all necessary facilitations, in coordination with active humanitarian entities, to overcome current obstacles and ensure the organized and rapid delivery of aid to those in need.
It is worth mentioning that the number of families arriving in Basra Al-Sham city has exceeded 500 families, distributed in schools and camps set up on the outskirts of the city, in conditions lacking the minimum requirements for a decent life.
