Ukrainian Attack Targets Druzhba Pipeline in Bryansk, Russia, Causing Widespread Damage

The commander of the Ukrainian drone forces, Robert Provdi, announced via the "Telegram" app on Sunday that Ukrainian forces carried out a drone attack targeting the "Druzhba" oil pipeline in the Bryansk region of Russia, resulting in a fire that caused extensive damage to the facility.

The Druzhba pipeline is one of the most important routes for Russian oil exports to Europe, supplying both Hungary and Slovakia with energy supplies, despite most EU countries halting imports of Russian oil since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Despite the attack, authorities in Hungary and Slovakia confirmed that supplies were not affected, according to official statements.

This strike is part of a Ukrainian strategy targeting Russian energy facilities in response to ongoing attacks from Moscow, aiming to undermine the Russian war effort. The pipeline itself has experienced several disruptions in recent weeks due to similar attacks.
