In a significant development in the Russian-Ukrainian war, a source in the Ukrainian security apparatus reported today, Sunday, that Ukraine carried out a "broad-scale" operation against military aircraft in Russia, targeting a base in eastern Siberia thousands of kilometers away from its borders.
According to the Ukrainian security source, "Ukrainian security agencies are conducting a wide-scale special operation to destroy enemy bombers far from the front lines, in Russia."
As per the source, more than 40 aircraft were targeted, and a fire broke out at the Belaya Airport in the Irkutsk region in eastern Siberia, over 4200 kilometers away from Ukraine.
The aircraft targeted by Kyiv include strategic bombers of the Tu-95 and Tu-22 models, which Russia uses to launch long-range missiles at Ukraine.
