Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the return of 175,512 Syrians from Turkey to their country since December 9th last year. According to statements reported by Anadolu Agency today, on the sidelines of the twelfth anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Migration Management Presidency under the Ministry of Interior. Yerlikaya mentioned that "the voluntary return operations of Syrians to their country gained momentum and accelerated after the fall of the previous regime on December 8th last year," adding, "We are taking necessary steps to create suitable conditions for our Syrian brothers to return voluntarily, safely, and honorably." He also noted that the number of Syrians who returned voluntarily to their country between 2017 and 2025 reached 915,515 individuals. Yerlikaya also denied allegations of a "plan to settle Palestinian civilians from Gaza in camps in northern Syria," stating, "Such claims are completely unfounded." According to statistics released by the Turkish Migration Management on April 4th of last year, the number of Syrian refugees enjoying temporary protection throughout Turkey reached 3,115,536 people, a number that has significantly decreased since the fall of the previous Assad regime on December 8th last year.
