Turkey plans to export 6 million cubic meters of natural gas daily to Syria.

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fatih Dönmez, announced a plan to export 6 million cubic meters of natural gas daily to Syria, equivalent to 2 billion cubic meters annually. He explained that this gas will be used to generate electricity within Syrian territories.
This was stated during an interview with the minister on "CNN Turk," where Anadolu Agency quoted him saying: "The planned natural gas export, expected to reach 2 billion cubic meters annually, will be used for electricity production in Syria."
Dönmez added that the Syrian side has started implementing the infrastructure for the gas pipeline, which will extend from the Turkish province of Kilis to the city of Aleppo in Syria, to supply the power station there with the necessary fuel.
In addition to gas, the Turkish minister revealed that Turkey is currently supplying Aleppo with 200 megawatts of electricity, emphasizing that supporting the stability and reconstruction of Syria is a top priority for his country.
He concluded by affirming that "contributing to restoring life to normal in Syria is a priority for Turkey," reflecting Ankara's focus on supporting the electricity and energy sectors in its southern neighbor.
