Trump: Netanyahu Negotiating with Hamas to Release Detainees in Gaza
US President Donald Trump revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently negotiating with Hamas to release Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a post by Trump on his "Truth Social" platform last Saturday evening, where he expressed solidarity with Netanyahu, strongly criticizing his corruption trial, describing it as a "vicious campaign" that could negatively impact sensitive negotiations involving Iran and Hamas.
He said: "This farce called justice will affect negotiations with Iran and Hamas."

Trump's statements coincided with massive protests in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv, attended by tens of thousands of Israelis opposed to the war, demanding an end to operations in Gaza and the release of hostages.

The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" quoted political sources as saying that Trump is seeking to end the war in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, with the possibility of accelerating the timeline for his envoy to Gaza, Steve Witkoff.

Israeli Channel 13 also reported that senior military officials will inform the political leadership that the ground operation in Gaza is nearing its end, and its continuation could endanger the lives of the hostages.

Furthermore, the channel revealed plans for an upcoming visit by Netanyahu to Washington in the next two weeks, where he will discuss ceasefire and reach new peace agreements.
Trump had previously stated on Friday that he believes a ceasefire agreement in Gaza could be reached within a week.
