Tribal clashes in As-Suwayda leave 3 dead and prompt tribal delegations to contain the crisis.

Three people were killed last night, Sunday, May 18, as a result of tribal clashes that erupted in the Al-Maqous neighborhood in the east of Sweida city, as reported by "Sweida 24" network.
Medical and local sources mentioned that the final toll of the clashes included the killing of the young man Salim Mataroud Al-Kanihir, who was not involved in the conflict but was hit by a stray bullet during the exchange of fire, in addition to the killing of Samir Hussein Al-Badah, while Sami Hussein Al-Badah was killed in an earlier stage of the confrontations.
The clashes erupted near the carpet factory in the neighborhood, without the direct reasons for the dispute that turned into armed confrontations being clear. Local sources indicated that the conflict was between the Al-Badah and Al-Anizan families from the Maqous tribes.
Tribal delegations flocked to the area in an attempt to calm the situation and resolve the conflict between the parties, amid fears of escalating violence.
The vicinity of the government hospital and the modern medicine hospital witnessed the arrival of the families of the victims and the injured, amid calls to stop the bloodshed.
These clashes come following a tribal reconciliation that took place on Saturday in Samara Square in central Sweida, between the Al-Abu Hamdan and Al-Abu Shibli Nasr families on one side, and the Al-Abdul Baqi family on the other side, after a car accident that claimed the lives of the two young men Julian Abdul Baqi and Amjad Abdul Baqi.
The reconciliation was attended by Sheikh Hikmat Al-Hajri and a number of local dignitaries, emphasizing "closing the chapter of dispute and enhancing the values of tolerance and adherence to social norms."
