TikTok Removes 16.5 Million Videos Violating Guidelines and Issues Statement Regarding Arabs

Following the uproar in the Egyptian streets due to the Ministry of Interior arresting several bloggers based on complaints filed against them, news circulated about the possibility of banning the platform entirely in the country.
The company quickly intervened in the crisis and issued a Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2025, highlighting the steps it has taken to promote a safe digital environment in several Arab countries.
The platform's statement confirmed the removal of 16.5 million videos violating community guidelines during the period from January to March 2025, in Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, the UAE, and Morocco.
Regarding live streaming content, TikTok suspended over 19 million violating live streams worldwide during the first quarter of the year, an increase of 50% compared to the previous quarter, indicating a clear enhancement of its technical capabilities in efficiently and quickly detecting violating content, without affecting the accuracy of advanced content moderation processes capable of swiftly and accurately identifying violating content. Commitment to community guidelines remains one of the platform's core priorities.
