A new achievement by Syrian scientific Olympiad students in international scientific forums by winning 3 bronze medals in the thirty-sixth edition of the International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2025), which started in the Philippines on July 20th and continues until the 27th, with the participation of about 80 countries from around the world.

The Excellence and Creativity Authority stated in a press release received by SANA today that the bronze medals were won by students Zein Azar Al-Zaher from Damascus, Roni Beiram from Aleppo, and Mohammad Haydar from Latakia.

The authority pointed out that the competitions of this Olympiad included practical and theoretical tests that assessed the competitors' ability to solve scientific problems, as well as conducting experiments and meetings with a group of science enthusiasts from around the world.

It is worth mentioning that Syrian scientific Olympiad students have obtained four bronze medals during their international participations in July, as well as an appreciation certificate at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Australia, as well as four silver medals and 3 bronze medals in the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2025) hosted by the United Arab Emirates, in addition to four appreciation certificates at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO 2025), which took place this year in the French capital, Paris.
