Thomas Barrack: Syrian Administration Holding Quiet Talks with Israel

At a high level, there are discussions circulating in political circles about talks, or as some call them, agreements that have not matured or become clear yet between Damascus and Tel Aviv. The US special envoy to Syria, Thomas Barrack, appears to be the architect of the file in terms of implementation and providing information about its course, as if the man is authorized by both parties with the blessing of his country's president, Donald Trump. Barrack says that the Syrian administration is quietly holding talks with Israel addressing all issues.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Barrack confirms that the Syrian government does not want to engage in war with Israel, calling for giving this administration a chance to prove its new approach.
Israeli media quoted Syrian officials, described as "senior" without revealing their identities, saying that Syria does not rule out peace with Israel before the end of the term of US President Donald Trump.
In statements to the official Israeli "Kan" agency, Syrian officials said that "direct daily dialogue has been taking place with Israel in recent days".
A Syrian official familiar with the details of the talks said that Syria does not rule out the possibility of reaching a peace agreement with Israel before the end of the term of the US President.
Meanwhile, Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara revealed last Wednesday,
the existence of indirect negotiations with Israelis through international mediators.
During a meeting with dignitaries and elders from the Quneitra Governorate and the occupied Golan Heights, President Al-Shara said that Damascus is working to stop the repeated Israeli attacks on areas in the Quneitra Governorate in southern Syria.
Days ago, the head of the Israeli National Security Council, Tzahi Hanegbi, revealed the existence of direct and ongoing contacts between Israel and the Syrian government, indicating that both sides are discussing the possibility of normalization.
