The American Embassy in Damascus warns of Iran's attempts to expand its influence in Syria.

The U.S. Embassy in Damascus has warned of Iran's attempts to solidify its influence in Syria. The Charge d'Affaires of the United States to the United Nations, Ambassador Dorothy Shea, highlighted the clear warning signs of Iran's expanding influence in Syria.
During a Security Council briefing on Syria, the American Ambassador stated: "The warning signs of Iran's malign influence and its determination to solidify its presence in Syria are evident." She added: "For this reason, everyone must call on Iran to stop undermining Syria's stability and security."
Shea emphasized that "the Assad regime has allowed Iran and its proxies, including Hezbollah, to use Syrian territory to threaten regional security and smuggle dangerous weapons," noting that this poses a threat to security and stability in the region.
It is worth mentioning that this warning follows a similar one issued by Ambassador Shea regarding Iran's attempts to destabilize Syria, reflecting ongoing U.S. concerns about Iranian activities in the region.
