United Nations: Over 128,000 Displaced Due to Violence in Southern Syria

The number of displaced persons due to violence in southern Syria has risen to over 128,000 within a week, according to the International Organization for Migration, a United Nations agency, in a statement on Sunday.
The organization reported, "So far, 128,571 people have been displaced since the hostilities began," adding that "the pace of displacement increased significantly on July 19, with over 43,000 people displaced in one day."
A cautious calm prevailed in Syria's Sweida province on Sunday following a ceasefire announcement after a week of fierce clashes between Druze fighters and rival armed factions.
