United Nations Denies Sending Delegation to As-Suwayda

The United Nations today denied the news circulated by some media outlets about sending a UN delegation to the city of As-Suwayda.

The Office of the Resident Coordinator and the Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in Syria said in a statement received by SANA: The United Nations, nor any of its bodies, did not send a UN delegation to As-Suwayda.

The office added: The United Nations and its humanitarian partners plan to send a delegation to assess the needs and provide necessary assistance as soon as possible, pending the appropriate conditions and in full coordination with the relevant authorities.

The office reiterated the United Nations' call for restoring calm, protecting civilians, and halting escalation.
