United Nations: Continuing Engagement with Syrian Authorities to Facilitate Access to Al-Suwayda and Provide Aid

Deputy UN Spokesperson Farhan Haq announced that the international organization continues to engage with Syrian authorities and partners to facilitate direct access to Al-Suwayda and provide aid.

The UN News quoted Haq as saying in a daily press briefing: Humanitarian workers visited the area of Sayeda Zeinab and plan to visit Daraa province in the coming days, where relief workers support tens of thousands of displaced persons.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs indicated that it led a visit yesterday with representatives from several agencies to the Damascus countryside to assess needs and provide assistance to over 500 families displaced due to recent events in Al-Suwayda.

It is worth mentioning that in recent days, medical and relief aid was delivered by Syrian Red Crescent teams to Al-Suwayda province, and many individuals were secured in shelters in Daraa city to provide support and assistance to them.
