The General Manager of the General Authority for Radio and Television, Alaa Barsilou, said today, Monday, "We will be close to the people and their concerns, acting as a mediator between the state and society, with a margin of freedom in Syrian news."
Today, Monday, Syrian news broadcasting resumed after a hiatus of more than 4 months due to maintenance work.
Barsilou stated: "We feel pride and honor with the launch of the Syrian national channel," adding: "Starting from scratch was a challenging task."

He emphasized that the previous regime had placed Syria at the bottom of rankings, stating, "The media institutions we inherited were in a very deteriorated state."
Barsilou mentioned: "We stopped corruption, established an efficient work system, and launched training programs for the previous staff to keep up with media developments and work at the highest levels."
Meanwhile, the Director of the news channel, Jameel Sorour, congratulated all Syrians and channel employees on the launch of Syrian news.
Sorour expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to building "this great Syrian news institution."
He stressed the importance of ensuring that the news channel reflects the new Syria, which delayed its launch.
Sorour added: "The news channel was suffering from aging in everything, we faced deteriorated devices and equipment, and imposed sanctions."
