The Syrian Ministry of Finance announced today, Monday, the extension of the deadline for submitting the tax return for the expenses of the year 2024 for taxpayers covered by the provisions of paragraph (1) of article (13) of Income Tax Law No. 24 of 2003 and its amendments, related to submitting written statements by taxpayers regarding their net profit or loss for the previous year, until 30-7-2025.
In a statement, Finance Minister Dr. Mohammad Yasser Bernia confirmed that the extension decision was made in response to requests from industrialists, businessmen, and major taxpayers, stating: "We previously suspended the field tax inquiry teams to allow voluntary compliance by taxpayers, and there are many proposals we are working on to facilitate business operations and support economic activity."
Minister Bernia expressed confidence that everyone will adhere to the new deadline, as they are keen to contribute to supporting the building of the new Syria, emphasizing that the Ministry of Finance is not just a tax collection ministry, but a ministry of development and partnership.
It is worth noting that the deadline for submitting tax data for the taxpayers concerned by the aforementioned decision ends on the 30th of this month, and with the extension of an additional 60-day period, it now ends on 30-7-2025.
