The spiritual leadership of the Druze in Syria appreciates the United States' condemnation of sectarian violence.

The spiritual leadership of the Druze Muslims expressed appreciation for the American stance condemning violence and incitement against the Druze community in Syria, considering it an important step to support civil peace and protect Syrian diversity.
This came in response to statements by the U.S. State Department spokesperson, Tammy Bruce, who on May 1, 2025, described the "terrorist gang" actions against Druze civilians as "reprehensible and unacceptable," emphasizing the need for the temporary Syrian authorities to protect civilians and hold the attackers accountable.
In their statement, the spiritual leadership praised the American statement, considering it "a genuine commitment to human values and ethical principles, contributing to raising international voices against violations threatening civil peace and harming the diverse Syrian fabric in terms of religion, ethnicity, and society."
They also called for enhancing international efforts to ensure the rights of all Syrian components, protect human dignity, and support stability in the region.
On her part, Bruce warned of the dangers of sectarian escalation, saying: "Sectarianism will only lead Syria and the region to further chaos and violence," pointing out that Syrians "have shown their ability to resolve their disputes peacefully through negotiations."
She also emphasized the importance of "forming a representative future government that protects and integrates all Syrian sects, including ethnic and religious minorities."
