The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani, announced, "The start of the second phase of the security operation in the Syrian coastal areas."
He added in a video that "this phase aims to pursue remnants and officers of the ousted Assad regime in the countryside and mountains."
Abdul Ghani pointed out that "sweeping operations in villages and towns in the region have begun through coordination between the Ministries of Defense and Interior."
He continued that "public security has deployed intensive checkpoints to inspect and verify the documents of passersby."
Additionally, "SANA" reported "clashes erupting at the Baniyas power station."
It is worth mentioning that the security forces have announced that they are working on securing residents and returning them to their homes in the coastal area.
They also revealed that they have arrested prominent figures from unlawful groups.
