The Public Prosecution in Hama Governorate announced the opening of an extensive investigation into the shooting incident that targeted a person in front of the Hama Courthouse building this morning, Tuesday, July 29, confirming that the investigations are being conducted under its direct supervision to uncover all the circumstances and pursue those involved.

According to a statement by the Public Prosecutor in Hama, Mr. Ayman Al-Othman, the incident occurred at 11 a.m. when two individuals on a motorcycle fired shots at a citizen near the entrance of the courthouse, injuring him. The injured person was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is still receiving medical care under supervision, while the perpetrators fled the scene.

In a related development, the Judicial Palace Security Unit managed to arrest a third person who was present at the scene of the incident, after also participating in the shooting. Legal proceedings have been initiated against him.

The Public Prosecution stated that the competent authorities immediately began preliminary investigations, which included collecting evidence, hearing witness statements, and conducting forensic examinations, confirming that all procedures are being carried out in accordance with legal principles.

While initial information indicates that the incident may have "personal motives," possibly related to what is known as "honour issues," the Public Prosecution emphasized that this possibility is still "under investigation," warning against preempting the official investigation results.

The Prosecution concluded its statement by confirming that it is dealing with the incident "seriously and decisively," considering it a "crime punishable by law," and warning that "the hand of justice will reach anyone who dares to infringe upon the lives of citizens or undermine the dignity of state institutions."

The Public Prosecution also urged citizens to "avoid spreading rumors or unconfirmed speculations," emphasizing that the judiciary will issue its final decision based on "solid evidence and legal framework."
