On a historic day, Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shar'a affirmed during his speech at the extraordinary Arab summit "Palestine Summit" in Cairo, the deep gratitude for the continuous support of Arab countries to the Syrian people, emphasizing that Syria has been and will remain an integral part of the Arab world.
President Al-Shar'a considered Syria's return to the Arab League a pivotal moment reflecting the determination to enhance Arab solidarity, confirming that his country was among the first supporters of Arab rights, particularly the Palestinian cause.
In a strongly worded warning, Al-Shar'a condemned the new attempts to redraw geographical maps at the expense of Palestinian blood, stressing that calling for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people is a stain on humanity and a direct threat to the entire Arab nation.
He added, "The uprooting of Palestinians from their land is unacceptable, and it is time for the Arabs to stand united against these dangerous schemes."
On the sidelines of the summit, President Ahmed Al-Shar'a held an important meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his accompanying delegation, discussing ways to strengthen the common Arab position in facing the challenges confronting the Palestinian issue.
