National Committee for Investigation and Fact-Finding in Coastal Events to Hold Press Conference Tomorrow on Its Work Results

The National Committee for Investigation and Fact-Finding in Coastal Events announced that it will hold a press conference tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, to brief on its methodology, mechanisms of work, main results, and recommendations in response to the presidential statement and its requirements to enhance transparency and the right to know the truth.
The Committee stated in a press release today that it has officially completed its investigation and fact-finding work, and submitted its final report with all attachments to the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shar'a, on July 13, 2025.
The Committee explained that it spent four months - the specified timeframe for its work - visiting various villages, neighborhoods, and areas, inspecting the scenes, uncovering multiple graves and burial sites, holding meetings with hundreds of individuals in cities, villages, and neighborhoods, listening to witnesses from families, government officials, and those related to the events in separate sessions, and documenting testimonies according to legal principles, the Committee's jurisdiction, and its standards.
The Committee indicated that it conducted intensive consultations with relevant international entities in the United Nations, discussing in its meetings and continuous correspondence the adoption of the best possible means, standards, and procedures in the investigation.
The Committee stated that its findings were based on the information, documents, reports, testimonies, tangible and digital evidence it examined.
The Committee expressed its appreciation to all those who cooperated with it and extended sincere condolences to the families of the victims among civilians and government forces, reaffirming its strong conviction in the necessity of achieving justice and fairness for the victims.
