The Minister of Transport discusses with the UAE National Company for Investment in Projects the ways to implement the Damascus Metro project

The Syrian Minister of Transport, Dr. Yarab Badr, today, Monday, discussed with a delegation from the UAE National Company for Investment in Projects, headed by Hamad Hassan Al-Hamadi, the technical, financial, and executive aspects of the Damascus Metro project.

According to "SANA", both sides emphasized the importance of the metro as one of the vital strategic projects for developing the public transport system in the capital, and its role in reducing traffic congestion, limiting environmental pollution, and serving a wide segment of citizens.

They also reviewed the specifications of the green line of the Damascus Metro, which is 16.5 kilometers long and extends from the city of Al-Maadamiya to Al-Qaboun, including 17 stations equipped with integrated services, in addition to discussing the preliminary map of the route, passenger stops, and the initial cost of the project.
