Minister of Transport of Syria, Yarob Badr, today Sunday, discussed with the President of the Land and Maritime Ports Authority, Qutaiba Al-Badawi, ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of transportation and logistics services, contributing to the revival of commercial activities and the recovery of import movement through Syrian ports, thus stimulating and supporting the national economy. The two sides also discussed several topics and laws related to the work of customs offices, car imports, investment contracts, supervision mechanisms on customs and technical procedures, unloading operations, studying the possibility of importing tourist cars, buses, trucks, agricultural equipment, and machinery within a specified timeframe, as well as regulating the entry and exit of trucks between Syria and neighboring countries to facilitate the movement of goods and enhance trade exchange. They emphasized the need to strengthen the transport sector, support port infrastructure, develop railway lines, activate transit, land, and maritime transport lines, work to restore Syrian ports as effective logistical centers in the region, activate commercial activity, and ensure the availability of goods through official channels safely and in an organized manner.
