Minister of Transport, Dr. Yarob Badr, met on Tuesday with the Acting French Ambassador in Damascus, Jean-Baptiste Fievet, to discuss activating cooperation in the transportation sector for the benefit of both countries. During the meeting, Minister Badr reviewed the cooperation between France and Syria, as well as investment opportunities in Syria's transportation sector. He emphasized the ministry's priorities in providing buses for public transportation in cities, reviving the 2009 Damascus metro project signed between France and Syria, and supporting the road transport sector. The French Acting Ambassador expressed readiness to provide full support in various areas, especially in transportation, to rebuild friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Minister Badr thanked the French government for its efforts in lifting European sanctions on the Syrian people, a crucial step towards transportation development.
