Minister of Health, Dr. Naseeb Al-Ali, discussed with the Charge d'Affaires of the Swedish Embassy in Syria, Jessica Svar Ström, ways of cooperation and support for the health sector in Syria. During the meeting held today at the ministry building in Damascus, both sides discussed expanding cooperation, particularly in the development of medical facilities, exchange of expertise, and enhancing health relations between the two countries. Al-Ali highlighted the obstacles facing the health sector in Syria, including damaged health services and facilities, updating the emergency system, and the destroyed infrastructure that affects the optimal provision of health services, in addition to the need for cancer treatment drugs. Ström expressed her country's readiness to provide full support to the Syrian people in the health sector, and the appropriate mechanism will be established to do so. The meeting also included Assistant Minister Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib and Director of the Supply Directorate Shadi Haj Hussein.
