Lebanese President Denies Entry of Armed Groups from Syria into Lebanon

The Lebanese President, Michel Aoun, denied the entry of armed groups from Syria into Lebanon, confirming ongoing coordination between the two sides at the highest levels.

Aoun warned of "domestic enemies seeking to stoke sectarian tensions in service of foreign interests," considering it a threat to "national balance."

In this context, he refuted recent claims circulated by some media outlets alleging the entry of armed groups from Syria into Lebanon and preparations for raids and operations on the Syrian-Lebanese borders.

Aoun stated: "Coordination is in full swing on these borders with the Syrian side to prevent smuggling, and there is continuous coordination with President Bashar al-Assad on many common issues," as stated in a statement issued by the Lebanese Presidency.
