The Lebanese army arrests a Syrian involved in a weapons smuggling network in the Bekaa Valley.

The Lebanese Army Command stated in a press release today, Tuesday, April 15, that its forces have arrested a Syrian citizen named (A.H.) in the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon, on charges of involvement in an illegal arms trafficking network.
This comes as part of enhancing security measures to combat arms smuggling operations across the Lebanese-Syrian borders.
The statement indicated that a patrol from the Military Intelligence Directorate managed to apprehend the aforementioned individual after discovering war weapons in his possession, confirming his direct involvement in smuggling activities.
The security campaign also included raids targeting suspected individuals' homes in the Karak-Zahle and Gaza-Western Bekaa regions, where the military units succeeded in arresting the citizen (A.A.), who, according to the statement, "works for the detainee (A.H.)."
The seized items were referred to the competent judicial authorities, while extensive investigations were opened under the supervision of the public prosecution.
