Colonel Killed in Yemeni Government Forces During Clashes with Houthis in Marib

Colonel Khalid Mathna, Chief of Staff of the Southern Front in Marib Governorate, Yemen, was killed along with one of his companions during armed confrontations with the Houthi group in the Al-Falijah area south of the governorate.

A government military source reported that Colonel Mathna, who is considered one of the prominent field leaders in the internationally recognized government forces, lost his life during intense clashes with the Houthis, without disclosing additional details about the course of the battles or the casualties on both sides.

The source indicated that the deceased had previously been injured several times on different fronts against the Houthis over the past years, reflecting the nature of his direct participation in the fighting.

Marib, rich in oil, is one of the hottest battlefronts in Yemen, witnessing repeated confrontations between government forces and the Houthis that often result in casualties and injuries.
