Iranian Parliament Presidium member Ali Reza Salimi announced that the parliament is ready to urgently discuss Iran's withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons as part of escalating steps in response to what he described as "Western pressures" and the activation of the trigger mechanism by European countries.
He confirmed that the parliament, along with other relevant institutions, will firmly pursue all available options to confront European and American escalation.
In this context, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that his country is ready to resume dialogue with the United States, but based on new foundations of mutual respect, considering that returning to the negotiating table will not be under previous conditions, but rather a new framework must first be agreed upon that aligns with the current developments.
Araghchi clarified that communication with the American side continues through intermediaries, and that Iran does not reject negotiations in principle, but demands a "fair and balanced" dialogue that respects Iran's rights and interests. He added: "We are fully prepared for negotiations based on respect, but this depends on a change in the American approach."
Araghchi strongly criticized the European troika - Britain, France, and Germany - for activating the mechanism to reimpose international sanctions through the Security Council, describing it as a "grave mistake" that complicated matters instead of finding solutions.
He confirmed that negotiations with the European parties are still ongoing, expressing hope for reaching a comprehensive understanding that ends the crisis.
Regarding the relationship with the International Atomic Energy Agency, Araghchi pointed out that negotiations with it are entering a new phase, stating: "Negotiations with the agency after the war will not be like previous ones," explaining that there is a nearing agreement on a comprehensive deal that includes lifting sanctions imposed on Iran and introducing new elements in cooperation with the agency.
This Iranian diplomatic escalation comes at a sensitive time in the region, amid increasing pressures and complex international balances, as Tehran seems determined to redraw the rules of the negotiating game, while constantly affirming its sovereignty and rejecting external dictates.
