The Israeli army has announced the continuation of its operations in southern Syria, with the aim of destroying military sites belonging to the former Syrian regime.
The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, stated: "The forces of Brigade 810, under the command of Division 210, continue their precise operations inside Syrian territories".
Adraee added in a post on the "X" platform, accompanied by a video documenting the operation: "During one of the activities, the reserve forces of Brigade 810, in cooperation with the special engineering unit 'Yahalom', destroyed several sites belonging to the ousted regime in Syria".
He continued: "These sites posed a direct threat to the army's positions in the Mount Hermon area, as they formed a front line for the enemy at the summit of Mount Hermon".
Syrian sources informed the German news agency (DPA) that Israel and Syria are engaged in direct talks focusing on "limited security arrangements" and the potential withdrawal of Israeli forces from the occupied territories in southern Syria.
The law demands a complete Israeli withdrawal from the areas it seized after the fall of Bashar al-Assad, and strongly opposes any expansion of the buffer zone in southern Syria, according to the sources.
