The Israeli army carried out a wide military operation in the Tseel area in southern Syria on Thursday, April 3, as announced by the military spokesperson Avichay Adraee, confirming the seizure of weapons and destruction of what he described as "terrorist" infrastructure. Adraee stated in an official statement that forces from the 474th Brigade (Golan) conducted the operation at night, seizing combat equipment and destroying facilities belonging to armed groups. Armed elements opened fire on Israeli forces during the operation, prompting a ground and air response that resulted in casualties among them, with no losses reported on the Israeli side. Adraee emphasized that the presence of weapons and threats in southern Syria poses a direct danger to Israel's security, affirming that his country "will not tolerate" such threats. Concurrently, western Daraa countryside witnessed intense shelling targeting various areas around the city of Nawa, Tal Al-Jumou', and Harsh Al-Jabeeliyah, utilizing Israeli helicopters, drones, and artillery, leading to the death of at least nine civilians and injuring dozens, according to the Huran Liberation Assembly. Rescue operations are ongoing in the Harsh area from which Israeli forces withdrew on Thursday morning, with expectations of a rise in casualties due to continued search for missing individuals and critical cases among the injured at Nawa Hospital. The Israeli airstrikes have sparked widespread anger among the residents of Nawa, who viewed it as a deliberate targeting of the region's youth after they attempted to resist the military incursion in Harsh Tseel, despite responding to distress calls before the clashes erupted.
