The Houthi group in Yemen adopted today, Friday, the launching of a ballistic missile targeting Ben Gurion Airport. The group stated that "the shelling of Ben Gurion Airport is part of implementing the air ban on Israel." The Israeli army stated: "Following alerts issued a short while ago in several areas of the country, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted. Alerts were activated according to the policy in place." The Israeli army added: "No injuries were reported after intercepting the ballistic missile." The announcement by the Israeli army came after sirens sounded throughout central Israel. According to "Times of Israel," Israeli defense sources said: "The Israeli long-range air defense system (Iron Dome) successfully intercepted the Houthi ballistic missile launched from Yemen towards Israel a short while ago." "Israel Hayom" reported that a large number of Israelis entered shelters after the sirens were activated. Meanwhile, the newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" stated that "air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport has been suspended."
