The Directorate of Hajj and Umrah in the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf completed today, Friday, the procedures for finalizing the documents and paying the cost of Hajj for the year 1446 AH for the lottery winners inside and outside Syrian territories, after harnessing all its resources in cooperation with government agencies and banks to facilitate the procedures for the pilgrims of the Holy Kaaba. The Director of the Damascus office at the Directorate of Hajj and Umrah, Imran Sheikh Youssef, stated to "SANA" that the procedures for renting accommodation for the pilgrims in Mecca and Medina have been completed. Sheikh Youssef pointed out that the Directorate has dedicated all its resources in the past period to facilitate the procedures for the pilgrims, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, the Immigration and Passports Department in issuing passports, the Central Bank of Syria, and other banks to facilitate the payment of the Hajj cost under the best possible conditions. Sheikh Youssef warned against dealing with any unofficial links or entities claiming to secure Hajj opportunities or requesting financial amounts in return, confirming that the Directorate of Hajj and Umrah is the only authorized entity to collect passports. Sheikh Youssef emphasized that the safety of procedures and the dignity of the pilgrims are top priorities that will not be compromised, and any attempt to disrupt the system or exploit the guests of the Most Merciful will be dealt with firmly and decisively. Sheikh Youssef confirmed that the Directorate is preparing to launch the visa issuance phase for Syrian pilgrims according to the specified timelines, which will be announced gradually through official channels.
