Sheikh Al-Aql Hakmat Al-Hajri Issues Statement Regarding Sweida Agreement Under the Sponsorship of "Guarantor Countries"

Sheikh Al-Aql of the spiritual leadership of the Druze monotheists, Hakmat Al-Hajri, issued a statement today, Saturday, July 19, addressing the recent agreement reached in the province of Sweida under the sponsorship of the "guarantor countries", emphasizing the importance of adhering to its provisions to enhance stability in the region.
The statement prohibits the entry of any parties into the border villages of Sweida for a period of 48 hours from the moment of announcing the agreement. The statement also allows a safe and secure exit for the remaining members of the tribes within the province, with the opening of emergency crossings in the areas of Basra Al-Harir and Basra Al-Sham for humanitarian cases, provided there is local coordination to ensure the smooth operation.
In his statement, Al-Hajri called on the civil groups in Sweida to commit to not crossing the province's borders and to refrain from any combat or provocative actions that may disrupt the current tranquility. He warned that "any unilateral action outside the scope of the agreement will make the party involved fully responsible for any resulting collapse".
The statement also revealed plans to deploy public security checkpoints outside the administrative borders of Sweida to enhance security and prevent any groups from infiltrating the province.
It is worth noting that this statement was issued concurrently with the announcement by the Syrian presidency earlier today of a comprehensive ceasefire in all areas, "taking into account the delicate circumstances the country is going through, and in a desire to preserve lives and safeguard the unity of Syrian territories", as stated in its official statement.
