The exchange rate of the Syrian Lira is fluctuating during Sunday's trading.

Contrary to expectations, the Central Bank of Syria kept the official exchange rate of the Syrian pound against the dollar stable without any changes today, Sunday, reflecting significant fluctuations in exchange rates in the parallel market.
The local newspaper "Al-Watan" quoted the Minister of Economy, "Basel Abdul Hanan," on Friday, stating that the fluctuations in the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against foreign currencies are due to speculations by traders. He also confirmed that the rate is "illusory" and indicated that the Central Bank and relevant authorities will intervene to stabilize the exchange rate.
Expectations of exchange market observers pointed to a change in the official exchange rate on Sunday, which did not happen.
The exchange rate for the Syrian pound had lost about 10% against the dollar during yesterday's Saturday trading. Today, Sunday, the exchange rate of the Syrian pound against the dollar decreased by about 6% before reducing its losses, closing with a decrease of approximately 3% compared to yesterday's Saturday closing prices.
In Damascus, the dollar ranged on Sunday evening between 10000 pounds for buying and 10300 pounds for selling.
The dollar recorded the same prices and approximately the same margin of 200 pounds in most Syrian cities.
