Member of the High Committee for Civil Peace, Anas Ayrout, stated that those involved in the incident of killing civilians in the village of "Harf Binnimra" in the countryside of Tartous Governorate have been referred to the judiciary to complete the investigation process. Ayrout emphasized during his condolences to the victims' families in the village, as per the official pages of "Tartous Governorate," that the committee is awaiting the investigation results to examine the motives behind the killing that undermines civil peace efforts. He condemned the killing and the attack, stating that it is not in line with their religion, ethics, or upbringing. Ayrout rejected the use of the term "minorities," adding in his speech: "As long as we are under the umbrella of the state and the law, everyone is responsible, everyone is accountable, and everyone is equal before this law, there is no difference between individuals of different sects." He pointed out that working in civil peace does not mean overlooking the killer or the criminal, forgiving them, or bypassing justice. Civil peace means removing sectarian tensions and erasing the seeds of discord. The committee reiterated its rejection of sectarian killings and emphasized the importance of protecting lives, property, and honor. The security official in Baniyas revealed new details about the incident of killing six civilians from the village, as shown in a recorded video, where witnesses reported that two individuals in military attire opened fire on a gathering of locals before fleeing towards the nearby area of "Al-Daysneh."
