The Chargé d'Affaires of the German Embassy in Damascus Confirms His Country's Support for the Unity of Syria and Calls for an Inclusive Dialogue

Clemens Hach, the Chargé d'Affaires of the German Embassy in Damascus, affirmed his country's commitment to respecting the unity of Syrian territory and its full sovereignty, noting that dialogue remains the best means to achieve reforms and build national consensus.
This came during his exclusive statements to "Syrian TV", where Hach said: "Dialogue is the optimal way to build a national majority that supports development and reform proposals," emphasizing the need for all social components to commit to peaceful coexistence within the framework of a "unified Syria".
The German diplomat also expressed his hope that the People's Assembly, which is to be elected soon, would become "a platform that includes various social forces in the country, allowing them to express their visions regarding the future of Syria".
For his part, a Syrian government source confirmed that the state guarantees citizens' right to peaceful assembly and constructive dialogue, according to the inclusive national framework. The source stated: "The citizens' right to peaceful assembly and constructive dialogue is a protected right guaranteed by the state and encouraged, provided it is within the framework of the inclusive national project that revolves around the unity of Syria, land, people, and sovereignty."
The source added that the form of the state is determined through "a permanent constitution approved by popular referendum," and not through "factional understandings," referring to the "SDF" conference.
