Communications clarify the reasons for the frequent interruptions in their services in the countryside of Damascus.

The branch of the Syrian Telecommunications Company in the Damascus countryside announced that the frequent disruptions in communication services in some areas of the Damascus countryside are mainly due to long periods of power rationing, reaching up to 22 hours of outages daily, compared to only two hours of electricity supply.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the branch explained in a statement on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, that this short period is not enough to charge the necessary electrical reserves to operate access units in rural areas.
The statement pointed out that communication centers in rural areas rely on diesel engines during rationing periods to provide the service, but these engines require continuous maintenance due to long operating hours.
The Syrian Telecommunications Company confirmed that some maintenance work is successfully carried out thanks to the efforts of the company's national cadres, while other malfunctions require the replacement of specialized spare parts imported from abroad, which takes longer to complete the repairs.
It also emphasized the continuation of efforts to ensure the availability of the service under the current circumstances and to work on finding solutions to reduce these disruptions as soon as possible.
