The Syrian national basketball team faces a decisive match against their Emirati counterpart.

The Syrian men's basketball team will play two important matches in the next four days as part of the qualifying rounds for the 31st Asian Championship, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia. They will face the UAE today, 21/02/2025, at 7:00 PM in Al-Gharafa Club Hall in Doha. Then, they will meet Bahrain on Monday, 24/02/2025, at the same venue at 7:00 PM in the final stage of Group 6, which also includes Lebanon, who has already qualified as the group champion. The other three teams are competing for the second direct qualification spot and the chance to advance to the playoffs for the third-place team.
The Syrian team, currently in third place with 5 points, is just behind the fourth-placed team in goal difference. Bahrain is in second place with 6 points.
Holding onto third place gives Syria a chance to advance to the playoffs. If they defeat Bahrain on Monday, they will secure second place and qualify directly for the Asian Championship.
