Syrian News Channel director Jamil Suroor explained that the channel was supposed to start broadcasting on satellites on the 13th of last March to cover the 14th anniversary of the Syrian revolution, but due to sanctions on Syria, the channel was unable to obtain a specific frequency on Nilesat, preventing its official launch. Suroor mentioned that despite challenges related to technology and aging equipment, the channel's team managed to create a visual identity reflecting the new Syria, striving to overcome difficulties and enhance some technologies. He emphasized that all technical and editorial staff at the channel are Syrian, with the inclusion of some external consultants who contributed their expertise to improve the channel's work and quality. The channel focuses on professionalism and efficiency as the main criteria for accepting journalistic and technical staff, excluding those who participated in the war against Syrians. Suroor stated that the news content provided by the channel will be highly dynamic, efficient, and professional, aiming to serve as an official source of reliable news amidst widespread misinformation and chaos on social media platforms. According to Suroor, the channel will cover all ongoing events in Syria and offer programs highlighting political, economic, and social aspects touching people's lives and issues in various provinces, in addition to programs focusing on the world of social media. It is worth noting that the Syrian News Channel began its first official broadcast on social media on March 29th, coinciding with the formation of the new Syrian government, and lasted for approximately five continuous hours.
