The Directorate of Hajj and Umrah in the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf has warned against dealing with any unofficial links or entities claiming to secure Hajj opportunities or requesting financial amounts in exchange, confirming that the only authorized entity to collect passports and deliver financial notifications to accepted pilgrims are the offices and groups officially approved by the ministry only. The Directorate pointed out the increasing cases of fraud involving the collection of passports and financial amounts under the pretext of securing seats for pilgrims of the year 1446 AH, following the announcement of the official lottery results, and emphasized that the offices and groups listed in the official lists of the Syrian Hajj and Umrah Authority are the only entities allowed to collect documents or receive Hajj costs. The Directorate mentioned the existence of fake accounts on social media platforms, unauthorized brokers or intermediaries claiming the ability to "bypass the lottery" or secure seats through fake links, and stressed that any individual or entity engaging in these actions will be referred to the judiciary and subject to legal penalties according to Syrian laws. Citizens can verify the announced offices by checking the official channels of the Hajj Directorate, confirming the legitimacy of any office by contacting the Directorate's numbers or visiting the premises of the Syrian Hajj and Umrah Authority and its website, and reporting immediately any attempted fraud.
