Syrian Ministry of Education Reveals Sophisticated Exam Cheating Network in Damascus

The Syrian Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministries of Interior, Communications, and Technology, has uncovered an organized cheating network at an examination center in Damascus, following intensive field and technological investigations.
A statement issued by the ministry explained that the investigations revealed "unlawful attempts to compromise the integrity of exams", as advanced techniques were used to track suspicious activities, leading to the identification of the network's operations that illegally exploited modern communication methods.
According to the statement, cheating methods included "the use of electronic communication devices and small earpieces to transmit answers during the exam", practices described in the statement as a "blatant violation of educational values and exam ethics".
The ministry confirmed that legal actions have been initiated against all those involved, as they have been referred to the competent judiciary in accordance with Law No. 42, which stipulates severe penalties for perpetrators of such actions. Cheating violations have also been recorded against students involved in these practices.
The ministry emphasized its continued cooperation with security and regulatory authorities to ensure the monitoring of the examination process, warning parents of the dangers of getting involved in such networks that may exploit students financially and make deceptive promises.
In conclusion, the ministry expressed its gratitude to the Ministries of Interior, Communications, and all supporting entities, reaffirming "its full commitment to protecting the integrity of exams and the authenticity of education in Syria".
