Minister of Transport, Dr. Yarob Badr, met on Monday a delegation from "Khatib & Alami" global engineering company, led by Dr. Najib Al-Khatib, the company's CEO, and its board of directors, to discuss investment opportunities in the Syrian transportation sector. The meeting included presentations on the company's expertise in infrastructure areas such as roads, railways, tunnels, bridges, and more. Both sides discussed cooperation prospects, prioritizing engineering projects in land transportation, railway rehabilitation, as well as the economic feasibility study of the Damascus metro project and international roads. Minister Badr highlighted the ministry's efforts to create a competitive and attractive investment environment by simplifying procedures and overcoming obstacles, emphasizing priorities such as reactivating railway lines with neighboring countries like Iraq, Jordan, and Turkey for cargo transportation to meet the aspirations of the Syrian people. Al-Khatib expressed the company's interest in investing in Syria's transportation sector and readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Transport on strategic projects and vital roads.
