Syrian Minister of Energy briefed on investment opportunities in the field of geology and calls for employing modern technologies

The Syrian Minister of Energy, Engineer Mohammad Al-Bashir, held a meeting today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the General Establishment of Geology and Mineral Resources in the countryside of Damascus, with the director of the establishment, Mr. Saraj Al-Hariri, as part of enhancing the investment of mineral resources to support the national economy.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Bashir was briefed on the developmental projects and investment opportunities available in the field of geology, and listened to a detailed presentation by Mr. Hariri about the establishment's plans to develop this vital sector.

The Minister Al-Bashir also emphasized the importance of the geology sector as a key axis in rebuilding the Syrian economy, stressing the need to adopt modern technologies for exploring resources and managing them efficiently.

The visit included a tour of the Syrian Geological Museum, where Minister Al-Bashir was shown models illustrating the stages of phosphate processing from extraction to export, in addition to a presentation of a map of Syria showing the locations of mineral resources and the establishment's products of various ores.

The tour also included viewing geological and environmental maps, a model of the Syrian pliosaur fossil with its natural environment, as well as a visit to the geological library containing references and studies supporting scientific research in the fields of geology and mineral resources.
