Minister of Economy and Industry of Syria, Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Sha'ar, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Regional Director of the International Finance Corporation "IFC", a subsidiary of the World Bank Group, Khawaja Aftab Ahmed, areas of cooperation and ways to enhance technical and financial support for economic sectors. The meeting addressed providing financing for sectors working in sustainable development and private investment, improving the business environment in Syria, rehabilitating infrastructure in the industrial sector, and providing consultations in various economic and developmental sectors. In turn, Minister Al-Sha'ar emphasized the importance of activating partnerships with international financial institutions in the economic recovery phase, highlighting the need to expand support programs for small and medium projects, and enhancing private sector initiatives to create job opportunities and achieve sustainable growth. Khawaja Aftab Ahmed expressed the readiness of the International Finance Corporation to enhance its presence and role in Syria, contributing to supporting the Syrian economy, providing technical expertise and advice to enhance the investment environment, reaffirming the institution's commitment to supporting Syria in reviving its economy and recovering from the effects of the war.
